Installed a single system in 2020. Included 1500qt ft. crawl space encapsulation. Was up sold on installing fans/ piping in interior of the home so they are not visible/ exposed to the exterior of home. Upon completion of this phase I noticed that the barrier installed was not caulked to the block across two areas spanning about 40ft. Company came out to remedy this. Radon levels did not drop to the recommended level. After going back and forth was told I would need to install a second system despite the company’s “guarantee”. During this time, I noted that the roof boot that was installed had leaked into my attic leaving water stains behind. Roof boot was replaced by company. In 2021 I agreed to pay for and install a second system. Radon in basement dropped to appropriate levels. Fast forward to 2023 and I noticed a leak in my attic. After it was reported a service call was placed to inspect. One of the fan collars was deemed the culprit and was replaced. About a month later one of the two fans started making a loud noise. Company came out to look at the fan in January of 2024 and I was told the bearings were bad and it needed to be replaced. Though it was covered under warranty, I was told I had to pay $150 to cover the costs to ship the fan back. This charge was disclosed after the fact. If it’s covered under warranty, homeowner should not have to absorb costs. At minimum this should have been disclosed ahead of time. I paid the invoice on good faith same day. During this visit, I noticed that the leak (reported/ serviced in 2020 and in 2023) was still present. The roof boot was tightened and I was told to keep an eye out on it when it was raining to try to spot the source. After it rained again, I confirmed the source of the leak to the owner and was told I would be put on the schedule. This was 02/05/24. After no word, I followed up on 02/26/24 and was told I would be put on the calendar. I followed up on 03/23/24 with main office and was told there were never made aware of the problem and that they would put me on the calendar. I was told it would be that same week. I heard back on 03/27/24 and was told it would be the same week or definitely the following week. It’s 04/17/24 and I’ve not heard back and still have a leak in my roof from this product that was installed by the company. While I completely understand the challenges that may exist with scheduling a service call, it is reasonable to expect a roof leak to be remedied with urgency due to the nature of the problem and damage it causes. The company does good overall work which is why I have recommended them for years. The service / communication is the reason why I will stop recommending the company. It’s unacceptable to have to wait over two months for a critical issue. I’ve engaged with a qualified roofer to address the water leak created by the roof boot.

While purchasing our new home the home inspection found a radon level of 7.3 pCi/L in our lower level. The team at Cook’s Radon worked with us to provide several options for a radon mitigation system that would be most effective for our particular home. This included reworking the plan to suit the requirements the HOA shared with us midway through the process. The crew that installed the mitigation system were highly knowledgeable and professional. The finished system looked great and the post installation testing showed a radon level of 1.1 pCi/L!! I highly recommend Cook’s Radon if you need a radon mitigation system in the Atlanta area. Big thanks to Monique, Blake, Michael, Shane, and Tony for a job well done.
